
Walks to enjoy & explore
Worcestershire is full of gorgeous walks. Here are a few of our favourites that you might want to enjoy whilst you are here.
There is a bridle path which you can access from our car park, following the hedge down to the vines. It is a lovely short loop, ideal to spot hares, pheasants, birds and local flowers and fauna.
Wagtail Retreat Bridlepath
Within walking distance of Wagtail, Monkwood is a semi-natural ancient woodland that is renowned for its ground flora & butterfly species. There are many walks throughout the nature reserve, ideal for a morning stroll to stretch your legs.
Monkwood Nature Reserve
20 minutes from Wagtail, this circular walk starts from the pretty village of Abberley. The route passes close to the Abberley Clock Tower, offers views to Malvern Hills, and ends with a section through pleasant farmland.
Abberley Circular Walk
A gorgeous, flat loop along the river, taking you past the cricket ground with spectacular views of the Cathedral, over the footbridge to the Diglis Lock Basin and the city centre. Just a 10-minute drive from Wagtail.
Worcester City – River Severn Walk
15 minutes from Wagtail, the route descends from Clifton Hill into the Teme Valley and then follows the river to Shelsey Beauchamp and follows the Shelsey Hill Climb route for some of the way.
Clifton Upon Teme Circular Walk
Set on the Malvern Hills, this is an easy, circular walk which climbs to the summit of the Herefordshire Beacon, with its Iron Age hill-fort and spectacular views. Roughly 30 minutes from Wagtail Retreat.
